CINEFOGO: Civil Society and New Forms of Governance - the Making of European Citizenship
How to understand social and democratic processes, citizenship and democratic participation in Europe? CINEFOGO brings together hundreds of European researchers and students to find out how to promote citizens' involvement and social participation in policy-making, how to understand the impact of different forms of citizenship and civic participation and how to identify factors that help co-existence among multiple identities in Europe. Researchers call it "active citizenship", "organized civil society" and "multiple identities". The CINEFOGO Network of Excellence is supported by the Sixth Framework Programme, Priority 7: New Forms of Citizenship and Cultural Identities of the European Union.
