Radio Frequency Identification
Radio Frecuency Identification (RFID) is an automatic identification method, which relies on storing and remotely retrieving data with tags... The tags are mainly made in silicone -the latest ones in polymere- and have an integrated electronic circuit able to store information that can be updated as much as required. This technology is used in hospitals to improve the quality of the treatment they offer to patients. Combined with electronic drug prescription, RFID is able to provide a valuable service to doctors, sometimes overwhelmed by the number of potential drug treatments and worried about the impact of eventual side effects.
