This film takes you through the « Science and Society » action plan launched in 2001 by the European Commission. The objective of this plan is to develop stronger, smoother relations between the world of science, technology and all players in society. At the same time, scientists, political decision takers, opinion leaders, entrepreneurs and members of civil society are invited to pool their thoughts on the subject. The culmination of the programme was the « Science in Society » European Forum that took place in Brussels in early March. The issue is twofold: what is the role that science plays or should play in society in the future? And what is the role of society?
