Programme details

A new chapter in the observation of Earth and Space has been written during the "Earth and Space Week", organised jointly by the European Commission and the European Space Agency in February 2005 representing nearly 60 countries in the European capital. A highlight of this major event was the third Earth Observation Summit. To launch an eventful week, a sphere symbolising our planet was illuminated in the central island of the Place Schumann. Images of the sky and our planet were projected onto the globe, which was inaugurated by the new European Commissioner for Research Janez Poto
